Casto " Castro" MartinezCasto "Castro " Martinez age 58 and a resident of Terra Bella passed away on March 11, 2012. Castro was born to Adolfo and Olivia Martinez on May 22, 1953 in Mexico City. He was raised in Villa Victoria and as an adult lived in Mexico City. It was in Mexico City where he met and married his wife Maria Socorro Miranda on May 19, 1974. They soon after relocated themselves to Terra Bella where he lived the remainder of his life. Castro worked as a foreman for 30 years before moving on to Canella Brothers in Terra Bella. He was also a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Castro enjoyed soccer and played for the Pumas. Castro was preceded in death by his two sons Adolfo Martinez in 2003 and Juan Martinez in 2009. Surviving family includes his wife Socorro Martinez. 1 son Manuel Martinez of Mexico City and 1 daughter Blanca Martinez of Terra Bella. 5 Grandsons and 1 granddaughter also of Terra Bella. Visitation will be 1:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapel with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11:00am Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the St. Anne's Catholic Church followed by interment at St. Anne's Cemetery in Porterville.
