Clifford "Cliff" Patterson at age 57 and with his loving wife Kathryn sitting beside him succumbed to cancer and was called home to be with His Lord at 8:56 p.m. Tuesday June 19, 2012. Cliff was a multi-talented craftsman best known for his work on custom hot rods but his skills extended far beyond cars alone. As a carpenter, he was responsible for many local home renovations along with building his own work shop and garage. Cliff, known for his keen eye and what he could create had a favorite hobby of crafting functional items or simple pieces of art out of scraps of metal, wood, rocks, shells or anything really. One of his many quotes was "I've done so much, for so long, with so little, that I can now do anything with nothing". Perhaps he will be best remembered for his generosity and compassion because day or night, rain or shine Cliff and his best friend Ed Miller made themselves available to anyone in need. Whether it was a flat tire or battling the flames of a neighbor's home, the two were always the first on the scene. His comedic nature and goodwill will be missed by all who have known him. Through his short but painful battle with cancer he held on to his strength with a sense of humor, saying "Well... .Caca Pasa", with a shrug and a grin. Cliff will be remembered by his wife Kathryn Nolene Patterson. Sons Jeremy Clifford Patterson, Shawn Ryan Patterson and daughter Cassondra Christine Pierce. His mother, Peggy Zilmer, sister Glenda Campos, 3 granddaughters as well as his many cousins, nieces, nephews and his dear close friends. Visitation will be 9:00am to 5:00pm Thursday June 29th at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapel and a Memorial Service celebrating his life will begin at 11:00am Friday June 29th at the Porterville Elks Lodge, 386 N.
