Guy Christopher Minter, age 56, and a resident of Springville, passed away October 18, 2017 at his home in Springville. Guy was born March 13, 1961 in Orange, CA to Clifford and Anne Minter who moved their family to Strathmore when Guy was 10 years old. He graduated from Strathmore High School in 1979 and married Mary Hays at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lindsay on April 20, 1985. Guy was inquisitive and thoughtful from a young age and was always taking things apart to see how they worked. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and started several businesses beginning at 16. He began by selling oranges, then cars, and soon opened Autotech, auto repair and smog inspection on Olive Avenue in Porterville. He eventually purchased G & A Precision, a precision metal works company, in Santa Clara. Most recently, his business ventures aligned with his passions which led him to become an FFL dealer. Guy had an adventurous spirit; was a pilot and enjoyed sailing and scuba diving. He could build or fix almost anything. Together with Mary, they found a beautiful home site in Springville where he designed and built their home. Guy was active with the Springville 4-H Shooting Sports, Boy Scouts Troop 124, and a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Guy loved spending time with his friends and family, who could always count on him to drop everything and help with any need. He always brought fun and his humor to any gathering. He was a dedicated and loving father to his three children and husband to his wife Mary. Guy was preceded in death by his father and mother Clifford and Anne Minter. He is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Lauren and two sons Daniel and Matthew; all of Springville. Guy will be missed by sisters Barbara Minter of Porterville and Teresa Minter-Procter as well as brother-in-law Trent Procter of Strathmore.
