Johnny "Kenneth" Plumlee age 80 and a resident of Porterville for 71 years passed away November 1, 2012 in Visalia. Kenneth was born October 27, 1931 at ______, OK to George and Mary Plumlee who moved their family to Porterville when Kenneth was nine years old. He spent his youthful summers with friends fishing and playing baseball and in 1962 married Donita Standridge and settled into what eventually turned into a 31 year career tending bar at Don's Hillside Inn. His enthusiasm for playing ball continued throughout his life as he pitched for many years with the Porterville Heavies in the Porterville City men's fast pitch leagues. Annual fishing trips to Lake Havasu with Donita and playing the poker machines at the casino were also some of his favorite things to do. Kenneth was a member of the Porterville Eagles Lodge #1351 and was preceded in death by siblings Opal Fleming, Gladys Spangler and Marvin Plumlee. Surviving family includes his loving wife of 47 years, Donita Plumlee. 5 sons: Keith Plumlee, Johnny Kenneth Plumlee ll, Keith Bledsaw, Edwin Bledsaw and Kevin Bledsaw. 2 daughters: Karen Plumlee and Patricia Wilkins. 2 brothers: Clifton Plumlee and Clint Plumlee. 3 sisters: Earline Goodman, Vivian Vaughn, Barbara Burge and 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2:00pm to 7:00pm Friday January 6th at Whitehurst-Peters-Loyd Chapel and a Life Celebration will begin at 11:00am Saturday January 7th at the Porterville Nazarene Church.
