Jovita "Vita" Martinez age 61 and a native of Porterville passed away peacefully at her home in Porterville November 15, 2015. Vita was born August 18, 1954 to Jose and Josefine Martinez and received her elementary education in Porterville before graduating from Monache High School in 1973. Vita was employed as a secretary for over 30 years which included working for Dr. Ballenger at the Zalud Clinic, Dr. Dietrich at the Animal Hospital and then at Bear Valley Trucking before retiring in 2005 due to health difficulties. She attended the Agape Mission Church and always looked forward to spending time with her pride and joy "Little Eddie", her grandson. Vita collected Christmas Nutcrackers, enjoyed beading and scrapbooking and was a fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. She had a soft spot in her heart for her dog Tino and liked the Ellen Degeneres show so much that she attended several live studio shows. The family would like to give a special thanks to Val Guzman for all the love and support her gave to Vita and her family over the years. Vita was predeceased by her parents Jose and Josefine Martinez. Surviving family includes her husband Lanny Hubbs of Porterville. Daughter Maricela Sandoval and son Eddie Sandoval of Porterville. Grandson "Little Eddie" Muro along with her brother Hector (Jana) Martinez of Soledad and her sister Dalila Miller of Tulare.
