Ron Espejo, a life-long resident of Porterville and local farmer entered into eternal rest on February 8th, 2022.\n\nRon was born on May 22nd, 1949 to Socorro and Mariano Espejo and was the youngest of their four children. Ron grew up with his large family on the "Larson Compound" in Porterville alongside their relatives Pablo & Rosa Espejo and Santos & Domatilla Gundran. His sisters and cousins always spoke about how well-behaved Ron was as a baby. Some of them even electing to take him to class with them when they were in high school.\n\nRon loved football and attended high school games and spent the season watching the NFL on television as a loyal San Francisco 49ers fan. He enjoyed reading and would immerse himself in any History and Western books he could get his hands on. He loved music and his nephews and nieces were impressed by his extensive vinyl record collection.\n\nWhen he was old enough, Ron joined his father in the fields and assisted in tending to Mariano's orange grove. After his father's passing in 1985, Ron took over the operations of the ranch, which he managed until health issues forced him to retire.\n\nIn 1984, Ron met the love of his life Libby and they were married in 1987. Ron and Libby were blessed with a wonderful marriage and daughters Katie and Corrie, Ron's pride and joy.\n\nMuch like his parents, Ron was a fantastic cook; his pancit recipe and barbeque were second to none. When he was able, he would spend his Friday afternoon with his friends in their self-\n\nproclaimed "He Men Women Haters" club.\n\nRon was a faithful Catholic that attended St. Anne's School in his youth, regularly attended Sunday & Daily Mass, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Mariano and Socorro Espejo; and his sisters, Diana Espejo and Marlene Marquez. His survivors include his wife, Libby Espejo; his daughters, Katie Espejo of Los Angeles and Corrie Espejo of San Jose; his sister, Patricia Espejo of San Jose; as well as several nieces and nephews.\n\nVisitation will be held on Sunday, February 27th from 3pm to 6pm at the Porterville Funeral & Cremation Center, with a Rosary to follow immediately. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 28th, 2022 at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Interment will be held at St. Anne's Cemetery.
